Members of the Association may be clinics, tourist companies operating in the field of medical tourism, organizations coordinating patient referrals and private practitioners.

RIA News, 10 Dec. The Association of International Medical Tourism Organizers (AOMMT), which aims to bring together the efforts and opportunities of all stakeholders in the industry, launched its work in December 2015, is reporting to the AOMMT Press Service.

Similar organizations work in European countries, Israel and the United States. Their mission is to provide professional assistance to a patient in choosing a clinic abroad, taking into account diagnosis, budget, distance from residence and other wishes. They are also powerful focal points and information centres in the industry.

" The 2005 boom in the area of medical tourism has led to an increase in the number of intermediaries, which have begun to suffer the reputation of not only individual clinics but also the Russian health system as a whole. Our task is to ensure that the membership of the Association becomes a guarantor of professionalism and the quality of the medical services provided.” It is the view of President AOMMT Constantin Onishchenko.
